What to Do When Hiring Local Movers
Published on Tuesday, 12 January 2010
While most people would want to hire the most popular removals company, you can actually get the job done at a much lower cost if you hire men and a truck instead. This is especially so if you are moving to a location not very far away from your current home. Nevertheless, you should still make sure that you hire trustworthy and respectable movers. First, you should only consider licensed movers. You should also make sure that you hire movers who are registered with local authorities. They should also be insured so they would be able to cover for any damage to your things. It would be better if you have family and friends who can recommend you some movers. If not, you could always scout around the locality or through the Internet. Then you should read testimonials so you will know the experiences of other people with the specific movers. Before hiring you could also ask for references. Then call these people so you can find out first hand how previous customers find the movers' service. Of course, you should consider taking quotes from at least 3 to 4 companies so you can get the best deal. Once you've chosen the company have everything in writing so there would be no surprises later on. You will be sure how much money you should prepare for the fees. To protect yourself, make sure that the coverage is included in the contract as well.
